The Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed October
13th, 2009 as Sam Emerick
Day!
Sam Emerick was the first president to serve on Habitat for Humanity
International's Board of Directors and the founder of Charlotte County
Habitat for Humanity. Sam still serves as a Board Advisor at Charlotte
County Habitat for Humanity today. Thank you Sam Emerick for all you've
done for this community!

Calusa National Bank Fundraising Event was a success! Thank you to all
who donated at the banks that day. And thank you to Calusa National Bank
for having us as your charity of choice on Tuesday October 6th!

World Habitat Day Event!


Thank you to all who walked across the Peace River Bridge in partnership

Walmart Distribution Center recently presented Charlotte County Habitat for
Humanity with a check. This donation
was in connection with Walmart Foundation’s Volunteerism Always Pays program.
Forty-four employees from Walmart Distribution Center contributed over 194
volunteer hours on two Habitat house construction sites over two days.
THANK YOU Walmart Distribution Center for your support.

Margo Grimshaw earned herself the title of Mayor for a Day for Englewood’s
Pioneer Days, held on September 7, 2009. Candidates
running for “Mayor” were charged with raising money for their
favorite charity. The candidate who raised the most, won the honor of being
named Mayor for a Day.
Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity was Margo’s charity of choice and she
raised over $4,000 to assist us in
accomplishing our mission of providing safe, decent and affordable housing
to families in need in our community.
